About the Authors<\/h3>\n

\nCameron Taylor and Alistair Murray originally designed and developed the The Real Macbeth project based on the real history of Macbeth, King of Alba, storytelling across landscapes and media.\n<\/p>\n

\nCameron Taylor followed his history degree with a career in the Civil Service before returning to his native Orkney to become CEO of Orkney Tourist Board. His first book, Rooted in Scotland<\/em>, was published by Luath Press in 2007. He now lives in Moray where Macbeth\u2019s ghost still haunts the landscape.\n<\/p>\n

\nAlistair Murray was born in Banffshire and settled in Caithness after a varied career spanning five continents. He now pursues a number of writing and screen interests and is the co-author of Stroma<\/em> (The Islands Book Trust) and writer\/producer of Time to be Sleeping, The Game and Charlie<\/em> (Big Box Network).\n<\/p>\n

\nThe iconic character, Shakespeare’s Macbeth, is one of the best known in the English language, but few know that he was a real person with his own story off stage. Macbeth was not the monstrous caricature created by Shakespeare; he was a real man who was born in Moray, part of the Kingdom of Alba, in the early 11th century.\n<\/p>\n

\nFrom early childhood Macbeth fought real-life treachery to protect his birthright to the throne and ruled successfully from 1040 to 1057.
